Several Types of Foot Pain and Causes

Tuesday, 08 September 2020 00:00

Foot pain is a common ailment, and can occur for a variety of reasons. Many people sprain their ankle, which can lead to considerable pain in the ankle and foot. Gout is a type of arthritis, and often affects the big toe. It is caused by an excess of uric acid in the bloodstream, and may be a result of genetic factors, or from foods that are consumed. Blisters may be caused by wearing shoes and socks that do not fit correctly, and may make it uncomfortable to walk. A bunion is defined as a bony protrusion on the side of the big toe, and may occur as a result of wearing shoes that do not have adequate room for the toes to move freely in. If you have any type of foot pain, it is suggested that you speak to a podiatrist who can correctly diagnose and treat foot conditions.
